An update from our Chair
August 2026
The year 2001 was, on the world stage, not the best of years, but in Princes Risborough something very good was happening. The idea of starting the u3a in this area was born. Thanks to the few whose efforts brought the u3a into being in this area we now, 25 years later, have a thriving organisation which has brought so much joy, friendship and learning to so many over the years. Planning for the 25th anniversary party on the 11th August has been going on for months and tickets are now sold out. There is a waiting list so if you would still like to come it’s worth going on the list as, inevitably, some people will drop out.
On that note, if you can’t attend please let me know as soon as you can. Finally, it’s the end of an era as Jackie Huntingford has, after many years as Editor of this Preview / diary sheet, stepped down from the role. She has done a wonderful job of keeping us all informed of what is happening month by month. We are fortunate in that Mike Fowler has offered to take over – without me having to bribe him! This is his first edition. Good luck Mike, and enormous thanks to Jackie!
