An update from our Chair
September 2026
It was a full and fun party on August 11th to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Princes Risborough u3a. We were very happy that around 20 of the original members from 2001 were able to join us. The party started by looking back to the early days with information and photos from the beginning and a slideshow brought us right up to the present day.
A few minor hiccups occurred, such as the hog roast chef not bringing the ordered salads which resulted in him having to sprint to M&S to get some. It turned out that he didn’t get enough which meant Ann and Elspeth (Group and Membership Secs) had to race there again to get more. The three cakes spelling u3a were fabulous, as you can see below, and as far as I know, enjoyed by everyone. The quiz was won by table 4; very clever people obviously. The singer alarmed some of us, well definitely me, when he said he would come around with his microphone for everyone to sing; quite a lot did sing and others danced. The party finished with a rousing rendition of Sweet Caroline.
It was great teamwork on the part of the Committee and so many others helped us too. Thanks to them all but our greatest thanks go to those early members who started this brilliant organisation in Princes Risborough that we all belong to.
