How to use this site
This site was upgraded to use the latest technology in 2020 and has been adapted to work on all common devices and screen sizes from desktop computers to smart phones. As with all modern websites it has been designed to suit tablets and smartphones in portrait orientation, but will adapt to landscape if that is what you prefer.
Home Page Signposting
The home page includes signposting panels and buttons to help you to get to the area of the site of interest to you. At the top are a number of boxes. These will help first time visitors to find out more about, join, or simply contact our U3A. The home page also has the Interest Groups as an array of buttons to help people to navigate to one directly, without going via another page.
Interest Groups
Interest Groups are the heart of our U3A. You can access them all by navigating to the Interest Group Index page, either by selecting it from the top menu bar or by clicking the relevant signposting panel in the upper part of the home page. Alternatively you can find the full group page on the lower part of the home page, either by scrolling down or by following this link: Interest Groups.
Interest Group Pages
Each interest group has its own page in this website. The page layout and organisation are the same for each group, starting with a short description of what the group does, followed by details of where and when it meets and how to contact the group leader. Below that is an interactive calendar, containing information about forthcoming meetings and towards the bottom of the page you can find a Newsfeed of “posts”, with news of or reports about group activities starting with the most recent. Depending on the nature of the group there may be many such posts or only a small number.
Calendar
The website uses a calendar to display future events. Because there is so much going on, it is not really practical to show all meetings of every group on a single calendar display. It would not work on smaller screens, and one of the things we have tried to do is to make sure the site is accessible on all devices. Instead it has an individual calendar on each group page and a separate Schedule page as explained below.
Schedule page
The schedule page is a generic list showing the days and times when each groups meet during a four week period. You can find it here: Risborough U3A Schedule (opens in a new tab, close it to return to here). There is a button for each entry which will take you to the interest Group page. The four-week schedule can also be downloaded as a PDF document which has links in it back to the website. This can be printed if you wish.
Listing View Page
You can view a list of upcoming scheduled activities here: Events List (opens in a new tab, close it to return to here.)
