More about this group
We are a welcoming and sociable group. Our meetings vary, with group discussion where we look at things from the past or members volunteer to present a short talk on a pre-selected topic.
Outside speakers are invited to talk on past events, persons, societies and places, thus giving us an insight into political, economic, cultural and religious activities and problems that significantly occurred in the past, and our attempts to understand them.
Speakers are often asked to return by popular demand to explore further the interest sparked by an earlier talk.
We also have an annual outing to a place of historic interest.
