At 83 1/4 years Hendrik Groen considers himself old but far from dead and isn’t planning to be any time soon either. His daily walks are shorter and he sees his doctor more than he’d like but thinks that there must be more to life than tea and pot plants. 

So he starts writing an exposé of a year in the life of his care home, including all the ups and downs and his new anarchic Old-But-Not Dead Club. Then, Eefje moves in, the woman he has always longed for. He dusts himself down, grooms his remaining hair and tries to make something of the life he has left with funny, tender and unexpected consequences, with hilarious, tender and devastating consequences.
