Duneen is a remote Irish village with little drama but the villagers are troubled. Sergeant PJ Collins hasn’t always been so overweight; Brid Riordan, mother of two, hasn’t always been an alcoholic; and elegant Evelyn Ross hasn’t always felt that her life was a total waste.

When human remains are discovered at an old farm, and the body is suspected to be Tommy Burke – a former love of Brid and Evelyn – the village’s dark past begins to unravel and a community’s worth of anger, resentment, secrets and regret are revealed.
