What a delightful trip to Kathy Brown’s garden! The weather was beautiful and we didn’t get the promised rain, thank heavens!
We arrived in good time to have a tour of the garden after our free time to explore. We were divided into two groups and shown around by Kathy and her husband Simon.
They were both very knowledgeable gardeners and so approachable on any questions about the garden.  They started the garden 29 years ago and both have a passion for gardening and art in the garden, something easily seen when you walk around.

There is a vast array of flowers, shrubs and trees beautifully laid out without being too formal. A visit is to be recommended through the year to see the various plants in season. We were fortunate to see the different types of peonies in groups or individually. The roses which were in bloom were heavenly, but lots in bud to be seen in a few weeks time. The garden is set out in small sections, the cottage plants mainly around the house but also interspersed with the trees and shrubs.
There is an area devoted to art in the garden, showing it off in natural surroundings.

After our tour of the garden, we relaxed with a cup of tea and the most delicious cakes, made by Kathy with flowers from the garden as a theme.
We then had more free time to relax and soak up the atmosphere before returning to the coach for home.

Thanks to Richard for organising the trip.
If you weren’t fortunate to take this trip, another may be arranged next year.
