A message from the Group Leader:
Hello to all PR U3A Short Mat Bowls Group, existing and future members.
You may have been looking forward to us restarting on Wednesday 2nd September. However as you will realise it is impossible for us to play and deal with our 6ft wide mats while the 2m social distance rule is in place.
In addition the building works, the start of which so abruptly stopped us at the beginning of March, have been delayed by COVID19. Now the builders have problems with the Community Centre roof leaking. As a result even the Council have not got access to the building. They cannot let us go to check that our mats have not suffered from their prolonged hibernation under the presumable layer of brick dust.
The crystal ball is very cloudy but I will not be surprised if it’s nearer the end of the year before we can start again. So meanwhile can I be the first to wish you all as happy a Christmas as is possible in the circumstances.
