The committee has located a new venue for our Monthly General Meetings – starting in July these will be located at St Mary’s Parish Church in Princes Risborough, which means we will no longer be meeting at Longwick Village Hall. You can read below the message recently sent by email from the chairman to the members:-
Dear Member,
As I hope most of you have seen in the Monthly Diary Sheet for June/July we had scheduled a meeting with the Parish Church as a possible venue for future monthly meetings.
The meeting took place on Monday and I reported back on Tuesday at the monthly meeting.
The Church were very welcoming and it was agreed that all future monthly meetings would be in St Mary’s Church WITH IMMEDIATE EFFECT.
This would be a similar arrangement to Wendover U3A which meets in their local Church.
Your committee has worked hard to resolve the appropriate venue and whilst not everybody will be happy there was no dissent at Tuesday’s meeting from the 50/60 members present.
Our secretary is in liaison with the Parish office to iron out matters of detail but you should note that the JULY MEETING ON 11 JULY of our brilliant U3A will be in the Parish Church in Princes Risborough.
We shall look to continue the practise of bringing your own cup/mug for tea or coffee at the end of the meetings, which will be served in the church from the existing facility therein. We will use the church’s AV system which includes a loop system for those who require this.
