A great number of members (86!) met in the Bowls Club to hear a talk ‘From seed to plate’ given by Paolo Arrigo MD of Franchi Seeds UK. Paolo entertained us with a brilliant talk educating us about the seed industry and taking us on a trip round Italy to explore the vegetables and culinary traditions of the various regions in the country. His talk was full of stories and anecdotes delivered in an amusing and charming way. After his talk, many of us took the opportunity to buy seeds and other Italian goodies at discount prices. A very enjoyable afternoon with a great speaker.
