What a brilliant day we had, those of you who were there know it but those who missed it missed a treat.
The weather was perfect, the games were varied, some very close, some not so but as the afternoon went on everyone’s aim improved so that the boules were landing within millimetres of the jack rather than many centimeters. (or even meters)
The refreshments seemed to be appreciated. Everyone was presented with a raffle/tombola ticket on registering their attendance and at the interval their numbers were checked and a choice of prizes were given out to all present.
A vote was taken to select the frequency of future meetings: fortnightly was the popular choice by a big margin. (a bit like some of our shots) with morning meetings to be 10.30 to 12.30 and afternoons to be 2.00 till 4.00pm. and all dependent on the weather. Days of the week to be varied but all meetings timed not to clash with any other u3a group. Evening meetings might also be held as the days grow longer.
So the next meeting will be on Wednesday 19th April, 2.00pm in Wades Park. Just turn up with boules if you have them. Teams will be made up on the day from those present. For first timers the cost is £2.00, for those who played last Saturday the cost is £1.00.
