Andrew Melville-Jackson is planning to restart the Financial Workshop, which he ran previously from 2013 to 2019. The first session, on Financial Risk, will be at 2pm in the Cherry Baker Room at the Community Centre on 28th Sept 2023 with tea and biscuits after. There will be a small fee TBC. There is now a web page with event dates and contact details.
He is planning to run it on similar lines to before. That is to run 6 sessions a year on the last Thursday of the month – 28 Sept, 30 Nov, 25 Jan, Mar, May, Jul; etc. Subject matter is not restricted to Financial. There will often be guest speakers on just about anything particularly if it is controversial!
The idea of calling the Group a Workshop is to get you involved and to use your experience and Andrew will be looking to you to suggest future subjects.
Andrew makes it clear that he is NO expert and no financial advice is offered. A formal caveat will be issued and signed by members at the beginning of each session. He is always looking for guest speakers; so his first appeal is ‘does anyone know someone from the media?
So do come along Cherry Baker room on Thursday 28 Sept at 1400 or earlier if you can help with the setup.
