On Tuesday 8th October we held our Annual General Meeting (AGM) at St Mary’s Church. The minutes of the 2023 AGM were accepted by a show of hands and will be published on the website. Members of the Committee presented their reports on what we’ve been doing as a U3A over the last year, the group’s finances and membership.
Maggie spoke movingly about Babs Cooper, who sadly passed away earlier this year, and all the work she had done over the years to help make our U3A a success, including serving as Chair for three years. She will be sadly missed. Maggie and Joe then offered their thanks to all the Group Leaders, the people who provide the refreshments at our monthly meetings, and the team who help at various Social events.
Having dealt with the business end of the AGM refreshments were served and people had a chance to chat before Matthew Allman returned to entertain us once again. Matthew has a lovely voice and was excellent. A lot of people said that they could have listened to him for much longer and they hoped he would be back again.
