Wednesday April 5th Long walk led by Sharon Clark
After a rather chilly start at The Greyhound, Albury, 12 walkers soon warmed up as we set off towards Tring Station. Then over the canal and into Tring Park, before Wiggington and a welcome coffee break in the woods. First sighting of early bluebells and delicate wood anemones. Cow Roast and back across the canal before a climb towards Ashridge Estate meeting friendly llamas along the way! Steep descent to The Greyhound for sandwiches and refreshments! Approx an 8 mile circular walk.
Monday April 10th Easter Monday – no stroll

Twelve walkers met at the Kings Head pub in Little Marlow on a rather grey and drizzly morning. We set off at 9.30 walking through the village and passing the Queens Head, another village pub before heading out over fields towards Marlow. We crossed the busy A404 by way of a footbridge – the only uphill section of the walk – and continued along quiet roads passing the Marlow Donkey (another pub) before turning left by the Prince of Wales – another pub! This road led us down to the river and the Thames Path and Marlow lock where we had a brief stop before continuing on along the river path. By now the drizzle had turned to rain and the paths were increasingly muddy. We had a short coffee stop then continued on to Spade Oak where we left the river path to walk up a lane passing yet another pub – the Spade Oak. Soon after the pub we took a path on the left to walk around a lake (very muddy here), then on across fields and a little woodland to reach the lane in Little Marlow and on back to the pub, arriving at about 12.15. After getting out of all our wet and muddy gear we went into the pub for lunch – all pre-ordered and served quickly and efficiently. A 5.25 mile walk, would have been better in nicer weather but still interesting – and the pub was good.
