On March 17th, Carole gave a talk about the acclaimed war photographer and photojournalist Steve McCurry. Born in America he spent many years on the Indian sub-continent photographing war zones. His speciality was to capture the way of life of the people in such areas. His portrait of ‘Afghan Girl’ also known as ‘The Girl with Green Eyes’ is one of his most famous photos. He has worked in most countries around the world capturing images such as the collapse of the Twin Towers in New York, The Pirelli Calendar 2013 in Rio, where famously all the models were clothed and New Zealand for Microsoft Windows Wallpapers. Kodak gave him the very last roll of Kodachrome film in 2010 to celebrate the end of this product after 75 years of continuous production. Steve McCurry has won many awards over his long career and was a contender for the Pulitzer Peace Prize in 2013. Still working today at the age of 76 he offers photographic trips to Europe and India.
