Nineteen-year-old Minou Joubert is in her father’s bookshop in Carcassonne when she receives an anonymous letter. It’s 1562 just before the wars that will tear France apart. Sealed with a distinctive family crest the letter has just five words: SHE KNOWS THAT YOU LIVE.

Before she can decode the message her destiny is changed by a chance meeting with Piet Reydon, a young Huguenot. He has his own mission and needs her to get out of La Cité alive . . .
