Our first indoor meeting of the Winter season talks was well-attended by over 70 members. We were treated to a wonderful talk, ‘A Tale of Two Poppies’, given by Professor Sandy Primrose.
Sandy gave a superb, informative slide presentation delivered with expert knowledge laced with humour. He explained the history of two poppies, the field poppy and the opium poppy, and how they had been used over the centuries and how they had made significant changes to our lives. A fascinating and very enjoyable talk.
