The weather was forecast to be sunny and warm as we gathered in Jane and David Bradshaw’s garden, ‘Freesia’, in Little Kimble for the our Summer Garden Party.  The beautiful garden was laid out with tables and chairs and there was plenty of shade, especially under a large cherry tree, so we were able to sit and relax and chat to old and new friends. Wonderful cakes, many baked by members, scones with strawberry jam and cream together with lots of tea and cold drinks, nourished us as we enjoyed a perfect summer afternoon. Many thanks to members who donated plants which raised the princely sum of £161.50 in the plant sale.  Very many thanks must go to Jane and David for lending us their garden, to David Brown for his impeccable organisation of the event and to Jenny Brown for master-minding the catering.  Thank you also to all those members who helped on the day with selling plants, helping with the teas and being car park attendants.  Everyone enjoyed a really lovely afternoon.
