DESCRIPTION:Winterbourne: Winterbourne is one of the best surviving examples of an Edwardian Arts and Crafts suburban villa and garden garden in Birmingham. The 7 acre garden was lovingly created by the homeowners\, Margaret and John Nettlefold\, using the books of Gertrude Jekyll as guides and inspiration. An art exhibition relating to the house/gardens is on the top floor. \nBirmingham Botanical Gardens:  Birmingham Botanical Gardens\, owned by the university\, is the green heart of Birmingham\, offering a uniquely bio-diverse natural environment. It is one of the UK’s most significant historic Botanic Gardens which has remarkably remained intact since 1829. \nMore details later. \nBooking not yet open.

We can park in the pub car park and then walk along by the canal towards Wilstone. Please arrange car share amongst yourselves. DESCRIPTION:Hidcote Manor is an Arts and Crafts garden created by Lawrence Johnstone from 1907 – 1938.  Famous for its garden ‘rooms’ and its beautiful informal streamside planting it was gifted to the National Trust in 1948. Nearby Kiftsgate is a privately-owned garden created on two levels by three generations of gifted women gardeners since the 1930’s. \nThere are 3 mobility scooters for hire at Hidcote.  At Kiftsgate\, access to the lower garden is steep\, uneven and can be slippery\, so please assess the path before descending. \nLight lunches can be bought at both HIdcote and Kiftsgate. \nCost: NT members £25  Non-NT members £41 \nBooking now open – Contact Carole Barfoot 01494 563686 for a booking form \n

DESCRIPTION:There have been many new developments at Wisley including the new visitor centre\, the newly laid out pinetum area and the fabulous new RHS Hilltop\, the Home of Gardening Science.  This new area has research laboratories\, a library\, interactive education area and three new gardens (Wildflower\, World Food and Well-being) plus a big restaurant. Wisley is beautiful at any time of the year and in late October is spectacular with the reds and golds of the Autumn colours. \nCarole Barfoot is on holiday from Saturday\, September 18th until Saturday\, October 2nd.
